Mount Pleasant Road - Our Village
In 2024, we planted 42 new trees in Mount Pleasant Road.

We have all enjoyed living in a greener road. As have the birds, butterflies, bees and other insects.

Now we are planning Phase 2:

15 trees and plant beds to make our road even more beautiful, and cooler in the summer heat.

There will be 13 new trees. We are also replacing two trees that did not do well this year.

The beds will cover the width of three paving slabs. Each will be filled with half a ton of high-quality topsoil so as to encourage even better root formation. This will ensure the new trees are more likely to thrive for many years to come. With space for shrubs and flowers.

Brent will cover the digging, filling and planting. We’re the ones funding the trees and plants.
We want to plant 3 golden raintrees (koelreuteria), 1 hornbeam, 2 catalpa, 1 rowan, 4 sweet gum and 2 Persian silk trees (albizia). The plan below shows how these trees might fit into the overall plan

The total cost will be £5,400 - £360 for each tree and planted bed. You can contribute here.
